This special moment is like a dream come true for us. Indeed we have never expected to go beyond this where our prison craft products have been recognised by our country to participate in this signature event - London Crafts Weeks.

Thank you so much to Her Majesty Queen Azizah for her passion, determination and courage in developing Crafts Industries in the prison since 17 years ago. Her Majesty sacrificed a lot putting her heart and soul in to see that one day, we can celebrate our success at the International level.

Alhamdulillah (Thank God) we are proud and honoured for Her Majesty Queen Azizah’s willingness to be appointed as our Crafts Royal Patron. With Her Majesty’s continuous and endless sincere effort, now Malaysia Prison Department has been recognized at the world level after receiving the award of Lifetime Achievement for contributions to Sustainable Development to the Craft Sector and Social Inclusion at the 5th International Craft Award 2021, presented by Craft Village.

Our deepest gratitude and sincere appreciation to Her Majesty Queen Azizah, The Queen of Malaysia for her noble efforts to accept our inmates as Her Majesty’s students, teaching them to appreciate and gain new skill; contributing to protect our heritage and encouraging weaving as a therapeutic tool in designing their new lives upon release.

The most intrinsic values of this effort, is the willingness of the Princess then become a Queen of Malaysia to leave her palace to visit the prisoners in the prison and always be kind to them. All I can say is she really has a noble heart.

Thanks once again Her Majesty for being with us in rehabilitating our prospects for the betterment of their future.
