Intelligent Smart Prison (ISP) Forum and Workshop was held by Malaysia Prison Department from 22nd April 2019 to 24th April 2019, aims to share the success stories and best practices in prison / correctional management system by the participating country delegates (ambassadors and prison experts), Malaysia Prison Department officers and participants from related government agencies.
The countries that participated are Canada, China, Japan, Netherland, Republic of Korea, Singapore and United Kingdom. The forum and workshop was held at Malaysia Prison Department Headquarters, Kajang, Selangor. Forum was officiated by Home Minister Tan Sri Dato Haji Muhyiddin Bin Haji Mohd Yassin on 22nd April 2019 while the closing ceremony of the workshop was completed by Commissioner General of Malaysia Prison Department Dato Sri Haji Zulkifli bin Omar on 24th April 2019. This platform had provide participants with information on the usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in prison management from the respective countries, particularly in addressing prison management issues for examples overcrowding, contrabands, staff shortages and staff competencies. A one-day forum followed by two-day workshop offered first-hand information from prison experts as well as policy makers on the best practices and success stories in the area of security, detention, rehabilitation, reintegration, community-based correction and overall prison management that include policies, practices, strategy, technology, legal aspects and alternative imprisonment as well as value-added topics that enabled the prison department to enrich its overall management and administration. |
